Dear Andy,
We've been in the same classes since 1st grade up until 5th grade and through middle school and high school I remember seeing you around. I was a weird kid xD and I got picked on a lot but you were always a nice person to everyone in class. I know you don't know me well and honestly I don't know you well. But I do look up to how strong you've been despite the struggles you face. In 5th grade I became suicidal, in 7th grade I developed bulimia, in 8th grade I started cutting and sophomore year I attempted suicide by swallowing around 400 ibuprofen tablets and drinking two bottles of cough syrup. I passed out and ended up in the ICU of Christ hospital vomiting the entire night and next day. After three days there of vomiting and not being able to eat I was transferred to linden oaks, a mental health facility at Edward hospital. There I stayed for a month and worked at recovering. I was diagnosed with severe clinical depression, anxiety disorder, social anxiety, eating disorder not otherwise specified, self injury and suicidal thoughts and attempts. After coming back I relapsed almost instantly back into my behaviors and practically starved myself. I lost 30lbs by that point and would pass out if I worked to hard because my body couldn't function. I ended up going back to linden oaks this junior year and stayed there for 2 months. Now that I'm back and made up all of my missing work at school things have been easier. But at times I still get sad and still use behaviors. Sometimes I feel myself slipping back down and I'm worried if I'll ever get better. I know that this isn't the same thing you are dealing with. What you've gone through is so much more challenging. But other times I become frustrated because you have the entire community supporting you and if I ever came out publicly about my story I would be called a freak. My pain was self inflicted, and yours you didn't deserve. I really and truly admire your strength and determination. So many people love and support you just remember. The whole point of this isn't to get any pity or charity, I just wanted you to know that I look up to you. Although it isn't nearly the same circumstances, it shows a lot of hope for many different people struggling including me. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Andy,
The first time I saw you back at school after your accident, I was amazed at your good spirits and enthusiasm. You are an example to each of us that we should be grateful for every day that we have. I am confident that you will walk again, and inspired by your perseverance. Hang in there, and know that you are a very special person.

Oh my gosh, Andy! I am SO with you! With your spirit, enthusiasm, energy, and zest for life, there is NO WAY that God is done with you yet! I am so proud of the determination you are showing in your recovery and treatment! While I am unable to participate or donate at this time, I am sending LOTS of prayers up for you... through Blessed Pope John Paul II, St. Stanislaus Kostka (the patron saint of broken bones), and of course Our Lady of Guadelupe (patroness of the Americas). You are in my thoughts and prayers. Fight hard, Andy!

Andrew,
If you are anything like the 3rd grader I remember, your smile and positive attitude will get you to your goal. I am sure you will walk again. Keep up the hard work! I'm proud of you and thinking of you!

Sometimes you must go through the valley to reach the top of the mountain.
Thanks for that smile on your face Jendrus.
Best wishes for you and your great family.

While you don't know me, I know your Mom, Aunts and Uncles well. You have a wonderful support team behind you. However, without all your hard work and dedication, no matter how much support you have, without your dedication there would be no hope! Your dedication to walk again is amazing! Keep up the great work! My family and I are behind you 100% and know you'll recover and walk again! Keep it up! Stay Strong and see you on March 16th!
